Drinks were good, spatzel was great, atmosphere was fantastic, service was rude.
I have always enjoyed this place, a darker campy vibe with their retro TV sets and vintage fixtures. They have good food and drinks and usually isnt crowded.
Good drinks (although $6 for a pilsner seems a little steep), good crowd, and good decor, except those damn inescapable TVs. The grainy green tint on all of them seems like a fun novelty at first, but after seeing them for more than a minute it gets old fast. I started feeling nauseous and had to look away, but they are placed all over and it's very difficult to find a spot that isn't in direct sight of them. Another in my party said they were making him feel inexplicably angry. The content of old music videos was fine, but the hue is awful. I live across the street from this place and want to like it, but I've only been twice in 5 years and couldn't wait to leave both times because of the screens.
Very cool bar. Not too hipster not too old man. That sweet spot right in the middle.
We met friends for drinks on a Saturday night, were glad to find table to accommodate 6, liked the lighting and relaxed vibe, not so loud you cant have conversations. Didnt love having to walk up to bar to order, some table service would have made it a better experience.
