we went here tonight for my birthday and were very respectful, said please and thank you, tipped, and kept to ourselves. the atmosphere was wonderful and the drinks were good and the staff were very kind with the exception of the blond bartender. he was exceptionally rude and judgmental from the moment we walked in. we tried to order drinks and he gave judgmental looks at the drinks we ordered and snapped at me when i tried to decide what i wanted to drink. we felt very unwelcomed and actually were itching to leave after our interactions with him. the only thing that kept us there was the atmosphere and the fact that we ordered one round of drinks in the first place. security was nice and the atmosphere and theme were so great but when the bartenders treat you poorly at a bar, you tend to not want to go back. obviously that's what he wanted and that's what he got. we will not return here. it's a shame since the bar itself is so cool and definitely our vibe.
Staff are capable. Drinks are decent. Door guy is super friendly. Bartenders do their jobs. Lots of cry babies saying the blonde bartender is rude. Y'all need to relax. Try using please and thank you and tipping decently and maybe the bartender would be nicer to you guys. Wonderful bar, good music. Guest DJs.
01/23/19 the other day for my friends birthday this was the first time that I've been to this bar called the lovecraft bar I went with my brother and my friend and one of her friends with me it was my friends 33rd birthday and when we got there I had bought my brother a drink that cost $3.00 and I had waited a while before I got my own drink I put a tab on and left my card with the bartender . I had bought a drink for my friend for her birthday and then one for my self the other to drinks cost $8.00 each after a while a got my brother another drink that cost $3.00 so all together the total should be $22.00 the total that I had payed was $37.00 plus I gave her a $1.00 tip that she is ungrateful for. I had asked her if I could get my receipt she had gave me a copy but not of the copy that I had signed. She had said that she had thrown in in the garbage and that she was not going to dig in the garbage for the receipt. I told her that I would dig in the garbage to find it myself but she did not let me instead she just went to the guy at the door that was carding people to come over to me and my friend just to kick us out of the club for really nothing and she had said that we were all being rude all night and we did not say anything to her or do anything that was rude plus they just open the door at about 8:30 something and no one was really there. I payed for 4 drinks only and she charged me $16.00 dollars over I don't think that they are allowed to throw away the receipt that the customers signed that seems really wrong she was a really rude bartender and she needs to turn her attitude around.
Pretty sure I would live here if I was a local. Super fun to visit, great unexpected burlesque show (just what you need on an idle Tuesday night) The decor is possibly a little tired but there's so many cool things all around, can talk about the table tops for days. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town.
It was a pretty neat atmosphere but the only bartender on staff was incredibly rude to all four of us. I understand being short staffed when it's busy and that entitles you to at least a bit of sass but this was completely unwarranted behavior. We went out of our way to be polite and understanding. I just wish even an iota of that had been returned. The bouncer alone gets five stars. He was pretty rad.
