Brilliant little space. Reminiscent of the Parisian cafes in both size and ambiance with some indoor seating and huge windows that open to the street and a few tables outside to just relax and people watch. Probably the best wine HH in Portland. Knowledgeable and kind staff. Great patrons. Try to stop by any time youre in the area just for a glass.
Perfect taste of European living right in the heart of the Alphabet District. This hole-in-the-wall is easy to miss, but you shouldn't. Candlelit, cozy, great selection of wines, a few choice beers on tap, and two separate happy hours!! You have to be okay with being close to other people here.... And if you can muster that strength, you'll probably make a friend or two. This is a popular spot for folks in the industry with it's late hours (and late night happy hour), as well as locals with dogs (dogs are welcome in the bar as well as on the patio!) The bartenders are knowledgeable, winethusiastic and friendly, which helps to warm this gem of a nook into the perfect date spot.When you're feeling nostalgic for the Paris of Fitzgerald and Hemingway, stroll down NW 21st and grab some wine at M Bar. (located between Kim Jong Smokehouse & Trader Joe's' loading docks)
