Kind of see the folks comments about grumpy. Owner seemed ok, but not a real "how can I help you?" vibe. That said I can honestly say I like the place. Perhaps as much because of, rather in spite of, the "you will be buried alive under books if you bump the wrong shelf" feel.Eclipse Bookstore in Bellingham WA. Is friendlier (warmer, cleaner) version of this place.
I really enjoy this place & dont mind the disarray of the books/movies, however, the staff is really rude. Both times Ive gone in we were treated as if we shouldnt be there to begin with. They also dont follow through on their sales. Went in today to get in before their sale ends, which ends two days from now, & they said the sale was over. When we asked why it ended early, they rolled their eyes & moved on. Unfortunately, I will keep returning because I love the place itself but Ill no longer waste my time by interacting with the staff.Update:Owner,Thank you for responding, but please be sure to print sale flyers with the correct dates because we have flyers given to use from the staff the last time we were there that says the Thanksgiving sale is from Nov 28th-Dec 4th, 2018. We appreciate it, thank you.
A real spot for diggers. The addition of the bike shop in the space eliminated the bargain section but there is still plenty to find. Some prices are good, some bizarre. A surprisingly small selection of kid's books but that isn't what I look for. If you want heavily organized go to Powell's. If you want to get lost in the stacks looking for something you didn't know you'd find come here.
Claustrophobic environment, books poorly sorted, prices are poor compared to other used bookstores in the region. The old guy is a grump and is toxic to customers! Caveat emptor! I will not return.
Totally scary dont shop here. My pregnant friend and I were both harassed by the elderly gentleman who works there. Disrespected twice, and yelled at. He threw books at us when we were simply trying to clarify a price. When I say threw. I mean he actually threw them. No one in the store or any other employees said a word about it They just stared. This man should not be working there. Harassing customers violently? At a bookstore? Can not believe the way we were treated.
