First, I want to say this review is just on the process of getting an estimate and has nothing to do with the work provided because I wont hire them. I submitted a request to have an estimate done to replace the siding on my home. My first red flag was when I was asked who else would be present during the scheduled time for an estimate because they needed a decision maker present. I am a woman and the decision maker. Period. The estimator shows up, tells me that the kind of siding I had was incorrect. Not trying to make small talk as I just want the bid and to move on with my day, I asked if he would just be taking measurements and provide me with my bid and the response was he would take measurements and we can sit at the table and discuss it. I was very honest saying upfront I was going to be getting multiple bids and was not interested in a car buying experience. After the hour long presentation about the company and why they were superior to others because of their James Hardie training, he presented me with a $35,000!!!!! dollar estimate. I was questioned on why I felt I needed multiple quotes etc and when I informed the sales guy I had already received a quote for half of that from someone else he wanted to call his manager to haggle. Again, Im not interested in a car buying experience and will be taking my business elsewhere where I dont feel like Im being ripped off. Word to the wise, always get multiple bids on any project!!!
*Update*: DaBella paid us to write the original review. The DaBella experience was awful. They lied to us and wasted 8 hours of our time. Yes, their presentation/price negotiation lasted 8 hours!!! We signed everything and then got a call a few days later from a company we had never heard of saying they were coming to do work on our house. They had contracted it out. After spending an hour talking about how DaBella is a trusted company with vetted employees who are treated well, they got another unknown company to do the work. They were understanding of our dissatisfaction and refunded us. We went with another company that said they do work for DaBella all the time, but charge 20% less. DaBella is mostly a contract broker company like Sears or Home Depot. Original review: We have been researching companies and receiving quotes on getting the roof and siding on our house replaced. DaBella Exteriors was very professional and friendly, they provided the most thorough inspection. They were only company that went into our attic to see what existing damage there was. The quality of there products seem far superior. They were easy to speak to and worked with us on the cost of the projects to be completed.
We purchased the roof and gutters. The gutters are immaculate and perfect. The roof was not done the way it was stated in the contract and now there is moisture in the attic on the "patches" which are plywood when it was supposed to be tongue and groove per the contract. The flashing in one valley is overlapped, but there is a gap of about three quarters of an inch, which is is allowing moisture to get under it. They tried to tell us that this was normal, until I told them I was in construction for over 20 years, then the answer changed to "I'm not sure, or I don't know, I'll have to ask." I'm curious to see if they follow through. I'll definitely let everyone know exactly how this pans out. As of right now, I wouldn't recommend them.
We needed a new roof after only 12 years on a supposedly 40 year roof and the company that installed it was already out of business.I feel much more secure with a company with longer track record and the warranty which is through the manufacturer. Lance was my sales person and I felt that they are a friendly and responsive company in my experience.
We chose DaBella because they had excellent reviews. Well the only thing excellent is that they are the only carrier of Preservation windows for our area. The person who did the install did NOT clean up properly. When asked if he was going to he flat out said NO. I did my best to clean but as a result my daughter and myself ended up with bloody feet. I was cut twice, she once. I went back and forth with the company trying to explain the situation. They sent someone out a month or so later to "clean" I have never been so frustrated in my life with a company. My advise if you are looking to get preservation windows, wait until a different company in the area has the ability to sell them to you. They only offered cleaning etc 2 weeks after job was done because I kept calling them and one person even hung up on me. By the time their "cleaning" person who was some random persons brother not even with the company, came out. I had already cleaned everything as I could not just have glass and screws and nails lying around. Also incredibly overpriced. Handling of the situation was very poor. Also if they say a "crew" will come to your house that is not true. It will be one person and will prob take more than a day.
