Malka is awesome. My husband got my engagement ring from them and I have taken it back a few times to have it cleaned and checked over. They always make sure to catch any loose stones and get it back to me looking like new each time. I also recently took a special bracelet there to have it fixed. I always trust Malka with my sentimental pieces. They are professionals, but the experience always feels personal. I am a loyal customer and couldn't recommend them enough!
I really thought this was a classy place. With great people. I had the David look at a ring. He told me it was basically junk. Diamonds were signal cut and set in silver. He was wrong. Had it appraised it is a 6.6 ct Chrome Tourmaline. Full cut diamonds set in 18kt. As inexpensive as Amethyst is. "I know now" They change my real Amethyst for 300.00 for a synthetic one. I now have 0 trust in this company. I was sure he new what he was doing being the owner. I'll take the blame for the stone change. But I do no he could have put a real stone in for 300.00. Make me sad that they took advantage of me. Mary Black
David and his team are the absolute best. My now-husband went there for my engagement ring and I couldn't be more obsessed. He tells the best story about David walking him through the buying process. We got his ring there, too. Shopping at Malka is no pressure, it's like hanging out with your friend while talking about jewelry. I've since been back for a jewelry repair and he did it flawlessly and so fast. We are life long customers. I love my ring so much I did a photo shoot with it at the Portland Rose Garden!
Follow them on social media and really like what I see. Keep trying to get to look at their selection but limited hours on weekends make it difficult for those who work during the week. Last time made it at 4:45 on a Friday and were told they were closing in 10 minutes so I tried on 4 rings and then had to leave.
After getting engaged my fianc and I took a family diamond to Malka Diamonds to have it reset. The diamond is from the 1920s so we were looking for a setting from the same time period. I researched many jewelers in Portland and settled on Malka because of their clean website and family history in Portland (also they have an amazing vintage diamond collection). The store is really cute and we were greeted by Chloe. After a brief conversation, Chloe walked away and returned with a box full of vintage settings; she immediately understood our vision. After picking my favorite vintage setting, I had my dream engagement ring a week later. The whole experience was so wonderful, the customer service was amazing and the prices were great. We love my ring and I cannot thank Malka enough for the awesome experience!
