This place is so crowded all the time.The parking lot is more like a sand dune, or a gravel swamp with dozens of random foot deep potholes. They'll bill you twice and lie about it. Then renig on written promises of reimbursement, then drag out your cancellation with some extra bogus fees on top.Just avoid this place.
Predatory billing practices. I canceled my membership over a year ago after moving. Hollywood continued to charge me until my debit card eventually expired.They claim I did not cancel, and say there's no way to prove I did it since I came in in person.I've paid over $300 for services I could not and did not use, they admitted themselves I haven't been in for since 2017...that's right, genius - because I canceled my membership.
Clean, fresh, and superb team. They get everything you need done. Community is nice and friendly.
Sadly disappointedHollywood Fitness does not allow chalk in the weight room! I primarily do the Olympic lifts (clean & jerk, snatch) and no one wears gloves/straps for these lifts because they restrict wrist motion as the bar is lifted overhead. For safety reasons, chalk is standard use to ensure a secure grip. Their no-chalk rule probably explains why there is only one weightlifting platform and why it was not in use the two times Ive visited. Their gym, their rules. My money, a different gym.
Great prices, friendly staff, lots of good weight equipment. I joined specifically because they have the best weight room for the money in Portland. Totally worth it. I would also like to commend them on enforcing their policies. Recently, I saw them ask a patron to leave for not respecting the dress code. This is a refreshing change from so many gyms that are so afraid of a single bad review that they allow their place to become lawless.
