Cool spot where you can eat in a converted school bus. Excellent soup, wonderful cheese and vegan cheese melts.
Food is really good (fancy filled cheeses, what's not to like?), and service is good and friendly. Don't miss the tomato soup which is great with any of the sandwiches. I got The Kelsey and loved it. The only issue is the seating area (in an old converted schoolbus), felt rickety and dirty. Otherwise a very nice and unique eating experience.
A real Portland institution. Fantastic sandwiches with the perfect crunch on the bread, and delicious gooey cheese in the middle. Extra flavors mix it up nicely for a variety that keeps me trying new things every time (rather than my usual behavior of finding my favorite and never ever getting anything but that). Also, you get to eat it all on an old school bus with a ceiling mural painted by somebody so high that they make Salvador Dal seem well-adjusted.
Love the bus you can chill in & wait in for your food to be ready or you can eat in the bus. It's really cool. Love it. We were staying at the tiny house hotel right behind this place. So it was very convenient when we were hungry. The food wasn't the best though honestly...
It's a cool and funky place and a neat experience. The grilled cheeses are good and they have gluten free bread. The only drawbacks are they don't have fountain soda - only cans - and their potato chips seem to be the black pepper variety, which I don't like. Service is good though.
