I would like to Thank Crown Memorial and the staff for providing comfort, supporting dignity, care and thoughtfulness not only to my Mother and my family 3 years ago- but also last week for helping and friend (and now my extended family) to be at Peace. Thank you Mr. F and the caring staff at Crown Memorial on Broadway for you commpassion and support. My Best Always. MGPXXIV Patrick Peters.
We originally went with Crown Memorial because their prices were unbeatable for the services we were wanting. When we went to meet them and fill out paperwork, we were told that both the mother and father needed to consent to cremation of the 7 year old child. We informed them that the child was a result of sexual assault and the father was not in the childs life. We were told that because we knew the name of this man, it was required to get his signature regardless of these facts. Were we already so distraught from losing this child that we didnt know what to do. She stated that it was their own policy and not an Oregon policy, so we were welcome to go elsewhere. We thought maybe it would be easiest to stay with Crown and avoid more painful meetings. However, this backfired horribly. The father was contacted by local authorities to provide the signature. At that point he decided he still had rights to see our little girl. He was able to contact the childs mother to tell her he was going to come see the child, who was already pronounced brain dead, at the hospital. Now, one could imagine the pure panic and fear that came over the mother. Her assailant was on his way to come face to face with his victim, all because Crown Memorial had some obscure policy that they refused to wave even given these horrid facts. It was a tragic, degrading experience that I do not wish for anyone to go through. So to any single parent out there, save yourself the extended grief to your already tragic event and go somewhere else.
During what was an incredibly difficult time for our family, everyone at Crown Memorial was kind, patient and helpful. Bruce walked us through everything, answered all our questions, and made sure we ended up with exactly what our dad would have wanted.
My elder brother passed recently, Crown was his choice for cremation. It has been quite difficult as I am next of kin and live 5 hours away. These people have been more than professional, they have treated me with repect, dignity and a friendly manner. I cannot rate them highly enough. I send Happy Holiday greeting to all the staff. Well done. And I thank you.Kirsti Claboe Arndt
After some research, my mother and I chose this Crown location for the arrangements for my dear brother, who lost his life very suddenly. Every step of the way, starting with the very first call, I was so impressed by the patience and compassion from not just one member of the staff, but all of them; Jennifer, Michelle, Kathy, and not to mention Michelle's precious dog, Snookie. I won't ever forget my experience, and am hoping that this review helps others to put their trust in this wonderful team. To the team here, and to Management who may read this; Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart.
